This image, acquired by the MetOp-A satellite on 19 September 2012, shows Tropical Storm Nadine passing close to the Azores.

The wildly spaced cloud bands signal that the storm was decaying. Nevertheless, the 10m-winds as measured by the scatterometer ASCAT (yellow to red wind flags reflecting low to high wind speeds) still indicated a tight anti-clockwise rotation.
