Spring thaw on Lake Lama
Lake Lama is a deep freshwater lake in northern Russia nestled in the Siberian Traps: a region of thick basalt lava flows that formed 250 million years ago. Subsequent tectonic movements and erosion created the dramatic cliffs and deep basins that enclose the lake.
Acquired by the Flock-1 constellation on 09 June 2015, this image shows ice thawing upon the lake.
