This Meteosat-10 Natural Colour RGB image shows a weather system that brought snow to the eastern Mediterranean Sea on 07 January 2015.

The upper level trough created a frontal cloud system which brought a lot of snow to Turkey and heavy snow showers to Crete, Cyprus, Lebanon, Israel and Syria.

It's unusual for this area to experience heavy snow, and the unexpectedly cold weather and snow caused disruption for many people in the region.
