Minimize Record-breaking Spring temperatures in Europe

This Meteosat-10 image, acquired at 12:00 UTC on 09 March 2014, shows an area of high pressure over central Europe that brought warm air from the south to much of western Europe.

Some parts of Europe, including Spain, France, Germany and Holland, saw record-breaking spring temperatures up to 26 °C. Paderborn in Germany broke the previous 09 March record by 10 degrees - 23 °C compared to 13 °C in 1997 - and Maastricht in the Netherlands beat the previous record of 15 °C by six degrees. Santander in Spain recorded 26 °C.
