Fisht Stadium, Sochi
This Deimos-2 image shows the Fisht Olympic Stadium in Sochi, Russia. The stadium is located in Sochi Olympic Park and is named after the nearby Mount Fisht.
The stadium was built in 2013 for the 2014 Winter Olympics in a beautiful area of the city, a part of the Imereti Lowlands which stretches along the Black Sea, and can be seen from the stands.
During the World Cup 2018, Fisht Olympic Stadium will welcome 47,000 spectators as it hosts four first round group games, one round of 16 match, and one quarter-final.
The Fisht Stadium is staging one of the most highly anticipated encounters of the group stages, as Portugal and Spain kick off their World Cup campaigns by going head to head in this very city.
