First image from CartoSat-2F
The new CartoSat-2F satellite acquired this multi-spectral image of Indore, India, on 15 January 2018.
CartoSat-2F was launched on 12 January 2018 and the imagery from the satellite will be useful for cartographic applications, urban and rural applications, coastal land use and regulation, utility management like road network monitoring, water distribution, creation of land use maps, change detection to bring out geographical and man-made features and various other Land Information System as well as Geographical Information System applications.
Indore is located in Madhya Pradesh state in central India. It is a hub for commerce and education and home to approximately 2 million people.
In the image we can see part of the heart of the city, which includes landmarks such as the Holkar Cricket Stadium.
